Fisker has agreed to merge with Spartan Energy Acquisition, a special-purpose acquisition company run by Apollo Global Management, confirming reports of the deal last week. The reverse merger will value the combined company at around $2.9 billion. Fisker, a manufacturer of electric vehicles, has received prior venture backing from Caterpillar Ventures, Moore Strategic Ventures, Stage 1 Ventures and others.
